Some say the Snæfellsnes peninsula samples every landscape that you find in Iceland. It is situated to the west of Borgarfjordur, in Western Iceland and is only a two-hours' drive from Reykjavik.

The town of Stykkishólmur is the first stop. Stykkishólmur is a town and municipality situated in the western part of Iceland, to the north of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. It is a center of services and commerce for the area. Most of the people make their living from fishing and tourism.

From Stykkishólmur we´ll drive to Bjarnarhöfn.  It is ideal to visit Bjarnarhofn to view the outlook for shark bait, taste and buy a shark, shark liver oil and dried cod fish.

Next stop is Arnarstapi and Hellnar. Arnastapi is a beautiful little fishing village on the southern side of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. It is a very peaceful place right on the ocean and surrounded by fascinating sea cliffs. There you can sit down, relax and watch the many birds nesting in the cliffs along the coastline. Hellnar is an ancient fishing village, a cluster of old houses and buildings situated close to Arnarstapi.  Along the coast are beautiful rock formations and caves, called Baðstofa. It is known for his light and shade under certain circumstances.
